Discrimination is an important problem facing Muslims in America. This article explores the case of Hani Khan, a young woman who experienced discrimination at the workplace as she was fired from Abercrombie and Fitch for refusing to remove her hijab. A survey is included in the article that highlights issues faced by Muslim Americans such as discrimination, negative views about Muslim/Islam, ignorance about Islam, and religious/cultural issues between Muslim and non-Muslims. Another survey also suggests that younger Muslim Americans encountered greater hostility compared to older Muslim Americans.
