The International Council of Museums (ICOM) Canada has honoured Nox Ts’aawit, Dr. Amy Parent with the ICOM Canada International Achievement Award 2026.

As ICOM Canada shares, “[t]his award honours a Canadian museum professional who has demonstrated and promoted excellence in Canadian museology on an international scale. This award recognizes the outstanding contribution of knowledge and expertise towards the advancement and support of museology worldwide” (ICOMCanada.org, para. 2).

Recognizing the urgent and necessary rematriation work Dr. Parent has undertaken, this award from ICOM Canada further acknowledges the continued importance of Dr. Parent’s contribution to advancing self-determination and Indigenous sovereignty.
