Mistaken for Muslim is a spoken word video that highlights the rise of hate crimes against Muslim and Arabs after 9/11. The video also illustrates how those who were also perceived as Muslims, such as Sikhs and Native Americans, experienced violence due to Islamophobia. Therefore, Islamophobia does not affect only Muslims, but other marginalized groups as well.
