In response to the recent ban on religious symbols in Quebec and other countries in Europe, this report highlights five facts about religion in Canada: a declining share of Christian Canadians and increasing non-religious Canadians; most Canadians think religions plays a less important role than in the past; Canada has low levels of government restrictions on religion; few Canadians engage in traditional religious practices; and two thirds of Canadians say it is not necessary to believe in God to have good morals and values.

The Teaching Against Islamophobia resources were developed with funding support from the Law Foundation of BC, and the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at SFU.
