This curriculum guide is designed for Social Studies 11. The guide is divided into two tables: Table A, which outlines big ideas (i.e. religion, Indigenous peoples, urbanization), and Table B which outlines curricular competencies and content. Two examples are provided in the guide of how educators can curate a curriculum using the big ideas and curricular competencies and content. Example 1 explores topics such as political studies, genocide studies, philosophy and example 2 addresses topics such as human geography, contemporary Indigenous studies, and social justice. The examples include activity suggestions that educators can use in their classrooms.

The Teaching Against Islamophobia resources were developed with funding support from the Law Foundation of BC, and the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at SFU.
