Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu, a 25 year old, was killed in June 2000 in Punjab, India. The motive behind her murder was Jaswinder’s marriage to a poor rickshaw driver. Upon hearing the news, Jaswinder’s mother and uncle allegedly hired men in Punjab to carry out the attack. However, the family denied involvement and challenged being extradited to India. Their efforts to challenge extradition failed; the family members involved in the crime landed in India in 2019 to be brought to justice.
