This article discusses a study conducted by Islamic Relief Canada (IRC) called: Dishonourable Violence: Changing the Narratives on Honour and Shame Among Muslim Canadian Communities.  The study by IRC specifically analyzes honour crimes in Muslim communities and outlines the challenges Muslim women face after experiencing violence . In addition, the report also defines different forms of violence and the factors which contribute to committing  acts of gender-based violence, including honour-crimes.
