To be used as a resource in the classroom, this presentation introduces the topic of Islamophobia. The presentation further notes that historical factors, such as orientalism and racialization, and contemporary factors, such as xenophobia and ignorance, have contributed to Islamophobia. Lastly, the impacts of this form of bigotry on Muslims is also examined. To help combat this form of bigotry, resources and strategies are provided.

The Teaching Against Islamophobia resources were developed with funding support from the Law Foundation of BC, and the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at SFU.
