Rana Husseini, a journalist for The Jordan Times, uncovered stories of honour based violence in Jordan. By sharing honour crime related stories, Husseini received backlash from the community. However, the opposition she faced led her to further feature stories pertaining to honour crimes as they stem from culture, not Islam. Moreover, Husseini worked on public awareness campaigns to make a difference. Through her work, the government introduced legislation and there is growing awareness regarding this heinous crime.
