Curated for Grade 9 students, this lesson plan is  part one of a two-part series about Islamophobia and how it impacts Muslims. To help students learn about stereotypes and how stereotypes lead to discrimination/Islamophobia, this lesson plan includes activities such as icebreakers, filling out a KWL chart about Islam and Muslims, analyzing a quote and sharing with the class, thinking about representation of Muslims in media, watching music videos, and a quiz.

The Teaching Against Islamophobia resources were developed with funding support from the Law Foundation of BC, and the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at SFU.
