Curated for Grade 9 students, this lesson plan is part two of a two-part series about Islamophobia and how it impacts Muslims. To help students learn about stereotypes and how stereotypes lead to discrimination/Islamophobia, this lesson plan includes activities such as watching a video to understand Muslim representation in media, defining stereotypes/discrimination/Islamophobia, and learning about hate crimes and the experiences of Muslim women wearing the hijab (Islamic headscarf).

The Teaching Against Islamophobia resources were developed with funding support from the Law Foundation of BC, and the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at SFU.
