Malcolm X: Make it Plain narrates the life and journey of political philosopher and leader, Malcolm X. Featuring interviews with individuals, such as Maya Angelou, Ossie Davis, members of the Nation of Islam, and his family members, this documentary highlights key events such as Malcolm’s childhood and youth, how the criminal activities he engaged in led him to prison, his conversion to Islam and association with the Nation of Islam, the journey to Mecca and his new understanding of Islam and society, and finally Malcolm’s assassination in 1965. To capture Malcolm’s eloquence and passion for justice, this film also includes clips of his speeches and varying interviews.
