“My name is George. I live in Montreal, in the province of Quebec. The deputies of my government proposed Bill 60, the “Quebec Charter of Values”, which essentially forbids religious minorities to fulfill their religious sartorial practices in the public sector. If Bill 60 is green-lighted, hundreds of people will lose their jobs. #Quebec60 is my documentary, which demystifies the culture of the group most targeted by the Bill, Muslim women who wear the veil and the Muslim community in Quebec at large. It also tackles its effects on the Jewish and Sikh community. Public hearings for Bill 60 start in January 2014.”

The Teaching Against Islamophobia resources were developed with funding support from the Law Foundation of BC, and the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at SFU.
